The Vivint smoke detector is supported by our award-winning 24x7x365 monitoring team and not only detects smoke, but also uses photoelectric detection technology to sense increases in heat as well.
Will my smoke detector beep continuously when it has a low battery?
When your Vivint smoke detector gets a low battery, it will send a signal to your touchscreen panel to alert you. This way you can acknowledge the alert and get a battery for replacement without having a constant chirp in your home. If the battery is not changed, the smoke detector will eventually start to chirp when it reaches critical battery level. To learn how to change the battery in your Vivint smoke detector, click here.

How often should I test my smoke detector?
It is always good to test your smoke detector on a monthly basis, but rest assured that our smoke detector will let you know if something is wrong. If there is ever an issue and you need to clean your smoke detector or change the batteries, your panel will let you know.
