Bypass the RouterThere is a radio piece of equipment that was installed on your roof. A line was run from the radio into your house and connects to your router, allowing you to create a wireless network. If you want to bypass the router and your wireless Internet connection, you can hardline your computer directly to the radio by following these steps:
Go to your router. On the back of your router, there is a WAN port or Internet port. The WAN/Internet port is where the radio connects to the router
After finding the WAN/Internet port on the back of your router, disconnect the Ethernet cable that is plugged into that slot
Connect the end of the cable that was just disconnected from the router directly into the Ethernet port on your computer
The router has now been bypassed and the computer has a direct connection to the radio. To test to see if hardlining to the radio was successful, open a new session in your browser of choice
Some computers do not automatically recognize the hardline connection. Disabling the Wi-Fi capability on the computer may be necessary. To do this, please consult your computer’s user manual
