Change the Batteries

Your motion detector will alert you via your touchscreen panel when the batteries are low and need to be replaced. Motion detectors take CR123A batteries. To replace low batteries, follow these steps:

First, determine the type of motion detector you have. If there is a screw at the bottom or top of the device to secure the back plate, then you have a first gen 2GIG-PIR1. If there is no screw, you have a second gen V-PIR2 and you’ll want to scroll down to that section.

2GIG-PIR1
If you have a first gen motion detector, follow the steps below:
1To prevent false alarms and tamper alerts, put your panel into Test Mode. Select your panel below for steps on how to put your panel into Test Mode:
2Go to your motion detector and use a screw driver to remove it from its bracket.
3Take out the old battery and replace with 1, CR123A battery.
4Replace the cover and remount your sensor in its bracket by replacing the screw.
5Safely dispose of the old batteries and be sure to exit Test Mode on your touchscreen panel when you’ve finished.
