Control Vivint with Alexa

The Alexa app has two skills available for Vivint Smart Home*. The 'Complete' skill can control the full system, including arming your system. For security reasons, you can only arm your system and lock doors, not disarm and unlock. Note, you will need to say “Alexa, ask Vivint to…” before saying any of the following phrases with the 'Complete' skill.

However, if your Vivint Smart Home has automation devices, we recommend that you also enable the 'Basic' Vivint Smart Home skill. The Basic skill can control light modules, thermostats, door locks and cameras without needing to say "Ask Vivint." You will need the basic skill enabled in order to view cameras on an Echo Show device. You can also create groups of lights or thermostats in the Basic skill so that you can turn on all of the living room lights or adjust both of your thermostats at the same time.

The following is a list of example commands you can use to control your Vivint Smart Home:

* Not available in Canada

1Turn on my lights
2Dim my lights
3Lock my front door
4Arm my security system "stay"
5Arm my security system "away"
6Set my heat to 70 degrees
7Set my AC to 72 degrees
8Turn the heat up two degrees
9Close my garage door
10Show me my doorbell camera
