Moves Policy

Moving? Whether it’s down the street or across the country, Vivint is proud to offer a moves program that allows you to take your peace of mind with you to your new home.

New home, new system:
Create a customized mix of the latest smart home products for your new home.

  • Qualifying customers* will have the option to purchase new equipment and a new monthly service plan for Smart Protect or Smart Video.
  • You have the option to purchase new equipment up front or finance it through FlexPay, which allows you to pay for the cost of the equipment over time rather than up front.

New home, same system:
If you do not qualify for or are not interested in purchasing a new system, you can take your existing system with you to your new home.

  • Option 1: Move your panel, get new starter equipment
    • You bring your panel and any plug-in items (i.e. Ping cameras, key fobs, panic pendants, Amazon Echo, Amazon Dot, Space Monkey/Smart Drive, Vivint router, lamp/small appliance modules, Google Home, etc.)
    • We give you new starter equipment, which includes 4 door/window sensors and your choice of a smoke detector, motion sensor, or glass break sensor. We will also replace up to 3 of the following if you had Vivint install these items at your previous home: door locks, thermostats, or doorbell cameras.
    • If you need additional equipment, you can purchase items at the time of install. Additional charges will apply for any new or upgraded equipment.**
    • You can either remove your system yourself or a Smart Home Pro can professionally remove your equipment for you for only $129. If you remove the panel yourself, use the SkyControl instructions or the Go!Control instructions.
    • Once you are in your new home, you will need to contact us to schedule an install appointment. You can call us at 855.441.4573 or chat with us Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 6:30pm MT. We will then install everything you brought with you from your old home. The install cost is $129. There will be no changes to your contract terms or monthly payment.
  • Option 2: Move your entire system
    • You bring your entire smart home system.
    • We give you up to 3 of the following if you had Vivint install these items at your previous home: door locks, thermostats, or doorbell cameras.
    • If you need additional equipment, you can purchase items at the time of install. Additional charges will apply for any new or upgraded equipment.**
    • You can either remove your system yourself or a Smart Home Pro can professionally remove your equipment for you for only $129. If you remove the panel yourself, use the SkyControl instructions or the Go!Control instructions.
    • Once you are in your new home, you will need to contact us to schedule an install appointment. You can call us at 855.441.4573 or chat with us Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 6:30pm MT. Military move:
Vivint would like to thank active service members by offering a free military move. Please contact one of our Smart Home Specialists at 855.441.4573 to discuss offer details. Additional charges will apply for any upgrades, replacements, or new equipment.** For all military policies, click here.

Remove, but don't move:
If you are not interested in taking your Vivint system with you to your new home but you would like the equipment to be removed from your current home before you move, a Smart Home Pro can professionally remove the equipment for only $129. Please note if you are in a contract, you are still responsible for the monthly servicing fees according to your purchase and service agreement.



*Credit check and pass required for this moves option. If you do not pass the credit check, you have the opportunity to pay $129 to have the system pulled from the current residence and $129 to have the system professionally re-installed at the new residence. Customers currently financing equipment do not qualify for this option. This moves policy is effective as of 4/23/2018.

**Equipment and upgrade fees will vary based on length of contract, type of system, upgrades or additional products requested, and credit approval. Please speak with a Smart Home Specialist for specific fees and pricing regarding your move.
