Set Recording Schedules
You can create system-triggered schedules or motion-triggered schedules for your Vivint Pan + Tilt cameras.
A system triggered schedule means your cameras will start recording when an event is triggered by part of your system, i.e your panel, door locks, etc.
A motion-triggered schedule means your cameras will start recording when motion is detected.
Note that more sensitive or frequent schedules may cause you to reach your upload limit more quickly.
Set Up Recordings:
1Log in to the online account center
2Click 'Control my home'
3Choose the Video tab
4Click on the Recording Schedules link
5You will be given the choice to Add a System-triggered Schedule or to Add a Motion-triggered Schedule. Select one
Add a Motion-Triggered Schedule:
1Under the heading “This camera should record a clip,” choose the camera you’d like to program from the dropdown menu
2Under the heading “When the following camera trigger occurs,” you can either leave your default settings by selecting the “In Any VMD Window” option OR select the “In Select VMD Window(s)” to specify the area of your home that you want to monitor. For more details on camera windows, go to the Video Motion Detection section
3Under the heading “During these time frames,” set a specific time that you want video motion detection to occur. To record at any time, choose the “At All Times” option. To choose a specific time, choose the “Only During the Following Times” option and pick the day or days and the starting and ending time
4Under the heading “Minimum delay between camera-triggered clip uploads,” use the drop-down menu to set the delay between when motion is detected and when a clip will record. We suggest you choose “None” so your camera will start recording immediately
5Under the heading “At home settings,” choose whether you want the camera to record when the system is disarmed or armed. If you want the camera to ALWAYS record, don’t select anything under this heading
6Under the “Who should be notified when a new clip is recorded?” select who you would like to receive a notification when your camera detects motion. You can send them a text message or email and also choose to send an attached video clip
7Save and test the motion triggered recording
Add a System-Triggered Schedule:
1Under the heading “Choose Event,” select which event you would like to trigger your camera to record. This can include a sensor activating, after your entry delay is complete, arming/disarming your system, or lock/unlocking your door
2Under the heading “Choose time frame,” set a specific time that you want a system event to trigger a video recording. To record at any time, choose the “At All Times” option. To choose a specific time, choose the “Only During the Following Times” option and pick the day or days and the starting and ending time
3Under the heading “Choose camera(s),” select the camera you want to apply these settings to. If desired, you can apply the settings to multiple cameras
4Under the “Who should be notified when a new clip is recorded?” select who you would like to receive a notification when your camera detects motion. You can send them a text message or email and also choose to send an attached video clip
5Save and test the system triggered recording
