Install Ping Camera

Congratulations on your new Ping camera! You are one step closer to having the smartest home on the block. Follow these steps to get your Ping up and running!

1Get the panel ready to add your Ping
  • From the home screen of your panel, tap the settings icon (three little dots in the bottom-right corner of the panel screen)
  • Tap 'Devices'
  • Enter your 4-Digit PIN
  • Tap 'Add new device'
  • Tap the Ping camera icon
  • Tap the location where you would like to install the Ping or tap 'Other places' to enter a custom location
2Adding your camera
  • Plug in your camera to an outlet near your panel and let it boot up
  • After 1–2 minutes, the light right around the base of the camera will start to slowly pulse green and the camera will announce that it is ready to connect to your Vivint system
  • Press the button on top of the camera until you hear a chime
  • The camera will announce that it is now connecting to your Vivint system and go through different light sequences
  • The panel will take a few minutes to add the camera and the camera will announce that it is finalizing and then ready to view
  • Once installed, you can unplug the camera and move it to the place you’d like it to be. Please note that you will want to make sure that your camera’s final location is within 200ft of your panel.
  • Tap the location where you would like to install the Ping or tap 'Other places' to enter a custom location
  • Remove plastic film from the camera lens and angle the camera to view the desired space
3Finalize Ping settings and view live feed
  • From your panel, you will now be able to adjust your Ping settings as desired and view the live feed
  • When the camera is fully connected, you will be able to access the camera anytime from the camera icon on the home screen of your panel or mobile app
  • If you would like, you can move the Ping to any outlet location in your home within 200ft of your panel

If the camera light ring at the base turns red, the camera has failed to connect with the panel and you’ll need to unplug your camera and go through the steps to connect again. Please contact one of our Smart Home Specialists if you try this and your Ping still has trouble connecting.
