Loss of Supervision

If your touchscreen panel is giving a Loss of Supervision alert for your door/window sensor, this means it isn’t able to communicate with the device. To make sure your sensor is communicating, check the following:

1 Select your panel below for steps on how to perform a System Test:
If the System Test fails to pick up your sensor, and the sensor has had a history of low battery life, the batteries are probably dead and need to be replaced. If you have a DW10 sensor, click here for steps on how to change the batteries. If you have a DW11 sensor, click here for steps on how to change the battery.
2If the batteries have already been changed, or are less than a month old, check the distance between the sensor and your panel. The door/window sensor has a range of 200 feet over open air. Any walls, shelves, etc. will reduce the signal range. If distance or structural interference is preventing communication, you may need to have additional equipment installed.

If your sensor has fresh batteries and is in range, but still isn’t connecting to the panel, chat with one of our Smart Home Professionals for assistance.
