Loss of Supervision

If your touchscreen panel is giving a Loss of Supervision alert for your motion detector, this means it isn’t able to communicate with the device. To make sure your detector is communicating, check the following:

1Click here for steps on how to test your motion detector.

If the test fails to communicate with your panel, and the detector has had a history of low battery life, the battery is probably dead and needs to be replaced. Click here for steps on how to change the battery.
2If the battery has already been changed, or is less than a month old, check the distance between the detector and your panel. The motion detector has a range of 200 feet over open air. Any walls, shelves, etc. will reduce the signal range. If distance or structural interference is preventing communication, you may need to move it closer to the panel or have additional equipment installed.

If your detector has a fresh battery, is in range, but still isn’t connecting to the panel, chat with one of our Smart Home Professionals for assistance.
