Your CO detector will chirp or beep for a few different reasons. When your battery gets low, you will be alerted on your panel first with an alert on the home screen. The CO detector will not chirp for a low battery until it gets to a critical battery level. If it gets to that point, you will hear a chirp from the detector every 45 seconds and the light will flash yellow every 12 seconds until the battery is changed. If your sensor’s batteries are low, click here to learn how to change them.
Your CO detector will also chirp or beep when it is expired. When the device reaches its end of life date, the light will flash yellow every 23 seconds and chirp every 45 seconds. Contact one of our Smart Home Specialists for a replacement if your CO detector is expired.
